Inputs
Five weighted streams: adjusted net rating, pace and play-volume, injury report quality (incl. our beat reporters), rest and travel, and a market-disagreement signal derived from line movement across 18 books.
Today’s read on every NFL, NBA, and EPL club, recalculated every fifteen minutes against pace, personnel, and market posture. Below: the methodology, the current tables, and the audited nine-of-eleven-seasons track record that puts them on this desk in the first place.
EL Sports Power Ratings start from a settled offensive/defensive baseline per team, then layer five live inputs on top of it. Every number you see on this page has run through the same pipeline since August 2017 — the file you download is the same file the newsroom, the syndicates, and the two NFL teams using it under license are reading.
Five weighted streams: adjusted net rating, pace and play-volume, injury report quality (incl. our beat reporters), rest and travel, and a market-disagreement signal derived from line movement across 18 books.
Recency-weighted with a six-game rolling window for in-season leagues; a season-blended core for NFL offseason and EPL transfer windows. Weights are publicly documented and frozen between full re-trainings every January and July.
Live recalculation every 15 minutes during active slates; one-touch overrides when our beat desk confirms a late lineup, scratch, or weather shift. The last-touch timestamp on every row tells you when it last moved.
It’s not a picks service and it’s not a standings projection. It’s a calibrated rating relative to a league-average 0.0, designed to be the single best predictor of how a matchup will play out independent of the betting line.

“Across 11,400 sampled events, EL Sports’ line-movement alerts landed an average of 3.1 minutes ahead of the two outlets we benchmarked against — and the rating movements they previewed outperformed market close more often than chance would predict.”

The same Power Ratings engine sits inside six licensed sportsbook operators and two NFL front offices. What shows on this page is the same feed; what they see under license adds per-market deltas and proprietary splits.
The downloadable CSV is generated nightly and made available above the masthead each morning; the live, in-page tables update independently at the cadences documented in the methodology section.
